Stress

Stress-we all have it,it can help us in a lot of ways. That speech you have to give, that deadline at work that needs to be met, the’fight or flight’feeling we get in a dangerous situation. But stress that builds can cause us physical harm, head aches, elevated blood pressure, high fats, sugars stomach problems. And of course the obvious relationship problems. The Bible offers help for stress. Spiritual truths can help us avoid “suffering and shock or being terrified” and cope successfully with daily stress–Joshua 1:7-9 To reduce stress-James 5:11. Those overburdened or overworked-Matthew 11:28-30. Give us help at the right time-Hebrews 2:17,18 and 4:16. Qualities that reduce stress the Bible urges us to avoid malicious bitterness, anger, and wrath, screaming, and abusive speech and adds be kind to one another, compassionate, freely forgiving-Galatians 5:22,23 and Ephesians 4:31,32. Biblical ways to reduce stress-Ecc. 7:16-don’t expect perfection. Philippians 1:10,11 set appropriate priorities. I am slowly learning to deal with stress in my life and reading the Bible is the best way. I am not trying to preach to anyone here, far be it from me to do that. Only passing around some thing s I have learned that may help others. Thank you for reading–Sharon
